Help Wanted!
Making the Cranberry Gathering successful is a HUGE undertaking and requires
lots of help!
We are looking for a few responsible volunteers who are willing to be
in charge of some very important parts of our festival. Perhaps you have
a husband, wife, friend, or significant other who will be coming with
you but will not be participating in workshops – here are a few
jobs where they can be of great help to us, and feel they are a significant
part of the festival:
WORKSHOP LEADERS SALES BOOTH SUPERVISOR
(This job can be shared by 2 people.) You will not need to be at the sales
booth all the time – just to make sure that someone is there whenever
the booth is open. What needs to be done:
1) Record the items brought by each workshop leader for sale on the sheets
provided.
2) Organize workshop leaders’ items for sale (detailed instructions
will be provided to help you with this)
3) Train/supervise volunteers who will be working at sales booth (we’ll
help you with this)
(Volunteers will keep a record of sales as they are made, and collect
money paid for items sold)
4) As vendors pack up and leave, you will need to reconcile items sold
with money collected and make sure each workshop leader is paid the correct
amount.
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
The coordinator’s job would be to make sign-up sheets for volunteer
jobs to be performed by festival participants, and to post them near the
registration table where folks can sign up when they arrive.
Some of the jobs that volunteers would need to sign up for include:
- refilling paper supplies near porta-johns as needed - toilet paper,
paper towels, handi-wipes
- help with Registration Table
- help with Workshop Leaders Sales Table
- help with parking
- help with taking down tents and other end-of festival chores
- Other ? ?
REGISTRATION TABLE SUPERVISOR
(We have had one person volunteer for this job, but she could
probably use an assistant if anyone else wants to help out.)
The duties of the supervisor would be to:
1) Set up and organize registration table (we’ll give you some guidance
on this)
2) Train/supervise volunteers who will be working at registration table
so that they know what they are to do.
3) Turn receipts over to treasurer
Volunteers helping at the registration table would be expected to:
1) Sign in pre-registrants (give them their name tags and a copy of brochure,
schedule, etc.)
2) Register walk-ins - have them fill out registration forms, take their
money, give them name tags, etc.
3) Ask all participants to sign up for a volunteer job
If you or someone you know would be willing to help us out with one of
these positions,
please contact Lori Keddell at 518-762-7516 or . We
will be eternally grateful!
